Canadian Experience Class is an immigration stream for people who already have skilled work experience in Canada, typically international graduates or temporary workers. Canadian Experience Class is a familiar path for moving from temporary to permanent residence. This article introduces this stream.

Canadian Experience Class là gì

Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a federal skilled-worker stream for people who have accumulated lawful work experience in Canada over a required period. This stream suits those who studied in Canada and then worked, or workers on a work permit.

CEC’s strength lies in leveraging existing Canadian experience and integration. People who are already familiar with the environment, have a network and understand the local labour market often have an advantage when transitioning to permanent residence.

Who it suits

CEC is especially suited to international graduates from Canada who have since started working, and foreign workers currently working lawfully. Canadian experience is counted for this stream, unlike FSW, which is geared toward foreign experience.

Since it requires work experience in Canada, CEC is not a direct option for those who have never been to Canada. For this group, other routes (such as FSW or PNP) are usually more suitable as a first step.

Note on policy reform

Like other federal streams, CEC is part of the plan to merge into a single unified skilled-worker stream in the future. How Canadian experience is valued may also be adjusted.

During the transition, current regulations still apply. Those accumulating experience in Canada should follow updates to adjust their plans in time.

You should refer to thông tin Express Entry and information on working in Canada to check current conditions.

Summary

Canadian Experience Class is a stream for people who already have skilled work experience in Canada, suited to international graduates and temporary workers moving to permanent residence. The stream requires Canadian experience, so it does not suit those who have never been to Canada. It is part of a planned overhaul; you should check the current requirements at IRCC.
