What is Ausbildung Germany 2026
Ausbildung is a form of vocational training that combines classroom theory with practical work at a company. Throughout the program, trainees receive a monthly training allowance from the company.
After completion, trainees receive a recognized vocational qualification in Germany and can switch to a work visa toward settlement.

In terms of language, trainees generally need German level B1 under the CEFR framework to begin. This requirement may be waived if the training company confirms the trainee’s language ability is sufficient.
Financially in 2026, dual vocational training requires a minimum allowance of about €822 EUR/month (net) or €1,048 EUR/month (gross). For school-based vocational training, you need to show about €959 EUR/month via a blocked account or a sponsorship commitment.
Rights during vocational training
Theo the official Make it in Germany portal of the German Government, holders of a vocational training residence permit may work up to 20 hours per week in a job independent of their training program.
Applications for skilled vocational training often additionally require approval from the Federal Employment Agency (BA) during the visa review process.
Why this suits young Vietnamese workers
Ausbildung is especially open in sectors facing shortages, such as nursing, hospitality, mechanics and engineering. This is a low-cost way to enter Germany while earning income right away.
The key is investing in German language early to reach B1. The M2W team will advise on choosing the right occupation and application for each individual.
