The CSOL list is the main framework for the 482 visa Core Skills stream and the 186 visa Direct Entry stream. The CSOL list has 456 occupations as of early 2026. This article explains it in detail.

Danh sách CSOL là gì

The CSOL (Core Skills Occupation List) is the official occupation list recognized by the Australian Department of Home Affairs for the 482 Skills in Demand visa (Core Skills stream) and the 186 Direct Entry stream visa. The CSOL list was published on December 3, 2024, and applied from December 7, 2024, alongside the rollout of the Skills in Demand visa.

The CSOL list has about 456 occupations as of early 2026, updated by Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA) based on labor market data, vacancy rates, wage growth, and industry consultation. JSA updates the list based on the National Occupation Shortage Report.

Difference from the old MLTSSL and STSOL

The CSOL list was created to simplify the previously complex system of lists. Before CSOL, employer-sponsored visas used multiple overlapping lists, including MLTSSL and STSOL.

The CSOL list consolidates many old lists into a single, broader and more flexible framework. However, MLTSSL, STSOL and ROL are still used for the points-tested 189, 190 and 491 categories — they are not replaced.

How to check if an occupation is on CSOL

To check whether an occupation is on the CSOL list, go to the Home Affairs website and search by occupation name or the 6-digit ANZSCO code. Each occupation on the CSOL list has information on the applicable visa stream, salary threshold, experience requirements, and assessing authority.

The CSOL list is reviewed annually in line with the fiscal year (starting 1 July), with urgent adjustments when needed. Those interested should check an occupation’s status at the time of preparing their application.

You should refer to danh sách CSOL and Jobs and Skills Australia to check current conditions.

Summary

The CSOL (Core Skills Occupation List) applies to the 482 Core Skills visa and the 186 Direct Entry visa, with about 456 occupations as of early 2026, updated by Jobs and Skills Australia based on the National Occupation Shortage Report. It differs from the MLTSSL/STSOL/ROL, which are still used for the 189/190/491 visas. Look it up via Home Affairs by occupation name or 6-digit ANZSCO code. Reviewed annually on 1 July.
